Summary
[edit]DescriptionSunlight barriers await placement in California.jpg | MARTIS CREEK LAKE, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2010) - Sunlight barriers await placement here Oct. 31 as part of a project to eradicate invasive Eurasian milfoil plants from the lake bottom. The gas-permeable barriers kill the milfoil plants by blocking sunlight, but don't disturb other plant and animal species native to the lake. The Corps is partnering with the Tahoe Divers Conservancy on the project, funded by a $20,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Western Nevada's Truckee River Fund. |
