The Foureye Butterfly (Chaetodon capistratus), also known as "Four-eyed Butterfly" is found among reefs in the Western Atlantic, such as the Eastern coast of the North and South America. They have a bright white body with occasional hints of yellow, along with a mirrored stripe effect across their body. They have a false eye (large spot) at the peduncle of their caudal fin, giving them their "Foureye" common name. As is true for most butterflies, they eat a variety of invertebrates, including small crustaceans, sponges and occasionally coral; due to this, they are not recommended for reef aquariums. They reach a maximum size of 6 inches and should be kept in an aquarium of at least 90 gallons, with other peaceful fish.
