Discover the Old Wife, a fascinating fish species with a distinctive shape and coloration. Known for its deep body and two separate dorsal fins, one of which is sickle-like, this unique fish showcases a silver-white to brown body adorned with striking black bands. It has an intriguing juvenile stage, featuring an elongated form, blotched color pattern, and a distinct white-rimmed spot on the soft dorsal fin. The Old Wife Fish has an exclusive status as the sole species in the Enoplosidae family. With all other species related to it being long extinct. They can grow up to 16 inches in length and are not reef safe as they will consume small fish and invertebrates. Feed them 1-2 times per day a diet of shrimp, small fish, clams, krill, and other meaty saltwater foods.
