The Scorched Red Star, Fromia indica, also known as the Indian Sea star, and Marble Starfish ranges from a deep orange to red and a marbled central disc and arms mottled in a lighter coloration. Constantly foraging for micro-organisms and detritus to eat this star can be found roaming over sandy substrates, rocks, and climbing among corals and invertebrates. The Scorched Red Star is very sensitive to sudden changes in salinity, pH, oxygen levels and cannot tolerate copper based medications.
